One of Haute-Savoie’s most popular ski resorts
Morzine is a ski resort located in the French Alps, near the Swiss border. It is part of the Portes du Soleil ski area, linked by ski lifts and cable cars. The domain, partially covered with forest, also offers summer trails and bike lifts. The Col de la Joux Verte climbs from Morzine to the Avoriaz estate, situated higher, near the Hauts-Forts mountains. In the village, restaurants, and bars revolve around the route de la Plagne.
The ski areas make up part of the Portes du Soleil, which is actually one of the largest linked ski areas in the world! With the area stretching over Switzerland and France there is no chance of getting bored. In total you can cover 14 resorts and 650km of marked pistes! In fact, many of the piste maps detail a circuit of the whole area than can be completed in a day (if you get your ski face on!).
